What is Subcision?
Subcision is a minor form of skin surgery carried out to treat depressed cutaneous scars and wrinkles.
How does Subcision work?
Subcision requires inserting hypodermic needles into the surface of the skin. The fibrotic strand that tethers scars to the underlying tissue is broken with the help of the sharp edge of the hypodermic needle. The wound caused in the controlled environment helps produce new collagen and the release of the fibrotic strand brings about cosmetic improvement.
Subcision can be used to treat the following conditions –
Depressed acne scars
Depressed chicken pox scars
Injury/ trauma scars
Wrinkles
Cellulite dimples

Comparatively less healing time
Comparatively fewer sessions required to undergo the treatment.
What one should expect from Subcision –
The treatment will leave swollen and bruised areas on the skin. This is absolutely normal and as the healing happens over a few days after the treatment.
